Psychotherapy or neuro psychotherapy frames the various therapies and methods I work with.

All the approaches and methods I use have in common that they work deeply in the subconscious mind and the nervous system. Among other therapeutic modalities, I use talk therapy, hypno-therapy, NLP-therapy and yoga therapy.

In talk therapy, I will ask you to answer spontaneously. Talk therapy will give you new insights and a greater understanding of yourself, your responses, patterns and personal resources.

In this way, talk therapy will make you more conscious of your actions and show you new ways of thinking and expand your options.

If you wish, I may give you assignments or homework. Depending on your situation, this can be anything from meditation, mindfulness, yoga poses, mental practices, etc.

My approach builds on many forms of therapy

Including humanistic psychology, gestalt therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. However, my approach is more results-oriented than problem-oriented.

This means the focus is more on your hopes, goals, and dreams rather than on your problem.

This approach targets your subconscious mind and nervous system, and for many it is experienced “as lighter” and more efficient than more traditional therapy.

Many of my clients report that they change faster and easier than in other therapies they have tried.

Hypnosis / Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a way to learn something new from deep within your subconscious mind.

I guide you into a hypnotic state – also call a state of trance. Trance is a very relaxed state of mind, it may seem a bit like a guided meditation.

The difference is that it is tailored to you, and we specifically aim to ease your symptoms and heal the reason for your symptoms. While you are in a state of trance (i.e. deep relaxation), I ask you questions and you respond.

Talk therapy is part of every session

Often our first meeting will be talk therapy throughout the entire session – as hypnoses takes more time.

Most of my clients experience hypnosis as a very relaxing and comfortable way to work with personal changes of any kind. However, it is not a magic wand, as some myths suggest. You still have to be open to it, work with yourself and support the change you wish to make, as in any therapy.


NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and it also works at the level of the subconscious mind. We experience the world through our language, bodies and senses, and we replay the same behavioral and thought patterns over and over. The good news is that our patterns can be re-programmed.

We do this in NLP through talk therapy and exercises in which you use your senses (what you see, hear, sense and experience). Through working with your inner experiences, we re-program your subconscious mind and nervous system.

We will work with visualization, setting goals and developing new strategies for dealing with everyday stresses.

Some of my favorite NLP quotes are:

  • Once you become conscious about something, you can do something about it. As long as you are not conscious of it, it will do something to you.
  • If something doesn’t work, do something else.
  • There is a positive intention behind anything said or done.

Yoga therapy

Yoga therapy use yoga or meditation to treat your symptoms.  In the West we often forget the body’s potential as an instrument of healing. However, working through the body can bring tremendous healing. We can work through the body to heal any symptoms that we work with in other kinds of therapy – or to supplement other forms of therapy that you do.

I work with Hormone Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yoga and gentle Hatha Yoga. In therapeutic yoga I will often include a focus on inner organs, meridians or chakras.

You can book yoga therapy without booking other types of therapeutic modalities simultaneously. If so, our first meeting will be a talk session, and on the second meeting we will start working with the yoga poses that you will continue with at home.

If you are already in therapy with me, we can do yoga therapy as part of the process.

Yoga and meditation can help you heal and relax your body and mind. It can train your nervous system to relax and go from the sympathetic nervous system response (fight or flight) to the parasympathetic nervous system response (rest and digest), which is necessary for any therapy to have a deep and lasting effect.

Who am I?

My name is Helene Lysekilde Goldberg and I am the owner of “Indre ro” (“Inner calmness”) in Odense and ONLINE. I am a trained Master Hypnotherapist and Master NLP-coach from The School of Hypnosis (Hypnose Skolen), and I am a registered Psychotherapist and Hypno-Psychotherapist from “Psykoterapeut Akademiet”.

I am also a yoga and meditation teacher and yoga therapist with more than 1500 hours of yoga teacher training. I am the writer of a self-help book about how to cope with anger, and a yoga book focused on strategies for using yoga for calming yourself and handling difficult emotions.

Originally, I trained as a Social and Medical Anthropologist. I am comfortable doing therapy in English – and have lived abroad in Israel, Mexico, Andorra, Italy and for 3 years in the US.

Before I opened ”Indre ro”, I worked for 13 years with large development projects in the social and health system at the municipal, regional and national level in Denmark.
